FINANCIAL CLERK – WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENT

FINANCIAL CLERK – PAYROLL DEPARTMENT

Paulsboro is a small community (6,200 pop.) located in Gloucester County. The Borough has immediate openings within the Finance Department for two (2) Financial Clerks. These are full-time opportunities.

Water & Sewer Department - job duties include but not limited to collecting and posting water and sewer payments, computing and reconciling online payments (WIPP); interaction with residents; collection of fees and taxes through the Edmunds Operating Platform; completing daily batch reports; creating monthly and quarterly reports as needed; calculating and making deposits; sending out delinquency notices; computing tax sale figures, and daily inputs and correction in the financial computer system. Payroll Department – job duties include but are not limited to processing employees paychecks by collecting their payroll data and timecards. Verifying employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees and updating payroll records regularly. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes. In addition to Payroll, the clerk will interact with residents/customers at the walk-up window, for collection of fees and taxes through the Edmunds Operating Platform.

Applicants should have a background in municipal finance, bookkeeping or accounting. The applicant should have knowledge of the statutory requirements of municipal finance. The candidate must have knowledge of the Edmunds platform and computer skills are required, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook), and working knowledge of financial software.
